What's New For Believe in Midwifery!

September 18, 2019

Welcome to the new and improved Believe in Midwifery website! I feel like she's finally all grown up! I hope you love it as much as I do!

There is a lot coming up in the next couple of months for Believe in Midwifery. I’ve got two national conferences to speak at: The Evidence Based Birth Conference in Kentucky (as well as their virtual conference in October - there are still tickets available for that one I believe, check out my events page), and the  Midwives Alliance of North America Conference in Texas. Anyone else going to be there?? Thinking of setting up a Believe in Midwifery meet-up at the MANA conference, but either way, if you’re going to be at either, please come say hello! And snag your conference attendee discount code for my e-course!

That’s the next piece of big news! Believe in Midwifery’s Guide to Sustainable Practice is set for release at the end of October. I have put a lot of heart and soul and effort into this course for you guys.  Designed with you in mind, the goal of this course is to help you find a balance between a fulfilling midwifery career and a fulfilling personal life. We, as midwives, CAN actually have it all, and I want to help. Fully online, it is a self-paced course that will earn you 10 MEAC approved CEU’s.  It’s a comprehensive course covering everything from statistics on home and hospital birth and the state of maternity care in the United States, to studies on how the stress of the on-call lifestyle leads directly to burnout, to the importance of true and complete self-care (and what that actually means!) Exercises in self-awareness, goal setting, boundary setting, stress relief, and business planning will aid in helping you figure out your own unique needs to practice sustainably and help you sort out options for pay structures and scheduling. And so much more! If you’re at either conference, i’ll have coupon codes for the course available for conference attendees. AND I’ll be sending out a major discount to all newsletter subscribers so be sure to sign up before the official course announcement!

Also, before you go, check out the shop for some sweet new vinyl stickers to show your support for midwives! I’ve also got the old shirts up still at a discounted rate but you can look forward to new designs with the new logos coming up later this fall.

I think that’s all for now… I’ve got a lot more ideas brewing, most specifically a membership group, but first I gotta get through these next two busy months! But remember, I’m here for you! I’m here for midwives and I’m here for women. I want to make midwives lives better so we can keep on making birth better for women. Please reach out and let me know how I can help! And I’d love to hear what you think of the new site and the new branding!

Here’s to changing the world one midwife at a time!
